A few weeks ago, I was obviously torn up with the loss of Theodore, who we’ve had for quite a long time. Two in the span of five months was a lot for me.
Prior to Theodore’s passing, I was thinking that maybe it was time to expand the family a bit and look into getting a third. With his passing, obviously those thoughts were put on hold.
Shortly there after, someone I work with said she had a kitten who needed a home as she couldn’t keep her any longer due to other family members having allergies. I felt bad for Osha being all alone during the day, so we decided to adopt her.
It took a few days, but they seem to get a long rather well. Osha kind of took on the role of older and gave her space and time to adjust, which kind of shocked me (then once they got along, started to plow right through her when they played).
So today was the first trip to the vet for Liger. She seemed a little on the chubby side, so we asked about it. They took her into the other room for a moment, ran a quickie ultrasound and we found it wasn’t excess fat…
So we adopted one, but in the end, we’re getting a lot more. Would be a nice change of pace to go from deaths to births. This is all new to me, so I don’t know what to expect. Hopefully we can find them all really good homes when the time comes.
It’s the worst nightmare of the south… an unwed, underage mother… hopefully no one will try and kidnap her and bring her to church… she’s just fine the way she is.. :)
